The Plus Size Park Hoppers are a threat, but not for the reasons trolls think. They’re not ruining society. They’re ruining the illusion that joy belongs only to the thin, the filtered, and the fearful.
A fat woman laughing at Disney World is more dangerous to the patriarchy than a hundred angry tweets. She’s not selling shame. She’s not asking permission. She’s just living. And apparently, that’s too much for the fragile egos hiding behind anonymous usernames and gym memes.
This isn’t about health. It never was. It’s about control. The internet doesn't melt down because someone ate a donut. It melts down because someone enjoyed it without begging for forgiveness.
So to the Park Hoppers: keep hopping, keep filming, keep rating every bite like it's a sacred rite. You are not the problem. You are the mirror.
Love this week's insights Stephanie. And also can't stop laughing at this: "I had been, in a sense, edging myself on videos of other people eating donuts, but never getting the release of eating a donut myself. Is this how men feel after a trip to a strip club, I wondered?
Interesting thoughts. In a way there’s some valid criticism of overindulgence but do we have to be mean about it? And in another sense we’re saying people should not be so mean… but on the other hand do we really want a society where everyone must hold their tongues while they hold the same mean ideas? I personally find it helpful when mean people have the freedom to express themselves because it saves time working out if they’re people i want to spend my time with. Valuable insights.
Unless I think someone's behaviour is abhorrent, I try to go through life leaving people a little happier for having interacted with ne. I fall short of that a LOT. But it's a good general rule-of-thumb.
This! Thank you for writing this! So on point and absolutely true of the black souled fuckwits that find their nads in the anonymity of the comment section. These women are not only having a good time, they are actually providing a service for others like them who would not be so brave as to try the test seat for fear of embarrassment, and might even skip the idea of going to a park altogether. They are opening up the possibility of joy, and no matter what the fuckwits on the internet think, we all deserve to feel joy. Keep up the good work! Love the amount of cursing and post-nut reference 🤣
I don't know, I'm of two minds on this situation. I totally understand leaving people alone, and if they're happy, that's great. Personal freedom is paramount. But I also understand the fat comment, and sometimes you just gotta let people get the venom out. It's not even in shape people leaving those comments, athletes don't leave comments on the plus size park hoppers they don't know they exist, it's other angry fat people that are mad that these fat people have put their face out in public.
It's very rare that you'll find the Ben Stiller character from Heavyweights that wants to meddle. That's not really a thing because in the real world if you say or do something to someone in person, you can get hit. People that run their mouth get hit all the time. That's worldstar hiphop's business model. Sad shitty people have to get the venom out someway, they're not going to go to a gym or go to the rumble at McDonalds, they have to anonymously poop on people online.

I’m feeling a little happier for your response. Keep up the good work.
LOL! Lovely reply. Thanks Steve.
Steady on, I don’t want to feel too much happier.
😍💕🥰
Likening scrolling food reels to a gooner is diabolical 😂
That one really appalled my family, lol. Can't help it.
They don’t know real culture.
